Hello!

Your family is invited to take part in an amazing program that could change your child’s life. Involvement in music and the arts shape an individuals abilities, confidence and character. This program is unique in that it is available at a low cost, giving more children the chance to be a part of the arts in our community.  The CORE School of Arts offers this opportunity for your child. CORE School of Arts was established two years ago and we recently moved into our beautiful new facility located in the downtown CORE of Belleville. We offer lessons by accomplished artists in our community; in vocal, dance and instruments including guitar, keyboard and drums. More information about each of these programs are located on the corresponding pages, in this package. We offer two semesters a year, one in the fall and one in the spring. When the year draws to an end, the children perform at the Empire Theatre for their friends and family. This year our next semester starts on Thursday September 23rd, 2010.

Space is limited, so make sure to register your child right away. Please do so by calling our office at 613-967-0255 or by sending us an email by clicking on “contact us” at the top of this website. Registration is completed on a first come first serve basis for each semester.

The following represents the various programs that we offer:

VOCAL

Our Vocal classes are offered to children 6 and up. As a group we teach songs that are new and popular that connect with the children. In the past we have done songs like “The Climb” by Miley Cyrus and “Pray” by Disney’s PureNRG. During the semester children are encouraged to try-out for vocal solos. Everyone is welcome to try-out and those selected for solos will work one on one with a vocal coach on their song for the performances.

A registration fee of $10 is due for each child for each semester to cover the cost of their outfits for their performance. During the fall semester we take part in the Belleville Santa Claus Parade and we have a Christmas Recital. Following the spring semester we have our Spring Spectacular at the Empire Theatre. Once the semester is complete and our performances are done, the outfit is yours to keep.

HIP HOP

We offer three tiers to our Hip Hop dance lessons; Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. Chidren are placed in each tier by age and experience. Lessons are offered to children ages 6 and up; with space available for both boys and girls. Beginner classes are capped around 13 students with Intermediate and A

dvanced classes being capped around 15 students. We have danced to songs like “Fanatic”, “Lean on Me” and “Get It Started”. During our 2009 spring semester we were invited to dance at a Belleville Bulls playoff game!

A registration fee of $25 is due for each child for each semester to cover the cost of their outfits for their performances. INSTRUMENTAL

CORE School of Arts offers lessons for guitar, keyboard and drums. Lessons for each instrument are offered on three levels; Beginner, Intermediate and Professional. Beginner students are those with very little or no knowledge of the instrument they would like to play. Beginner lessons are $39.99  per semester
and cover the cost of paper materials needed in a group setting. Intermediate and Professional lessons are subsidized and available with accomplished local artists in a more initimate setting.

Intermediate lessons are at a cost of $10 per week and Professional lessons are at a cost of $15 per week. If you are unsure of where your child may fit in our tiers, please let us know at registration and we can have them assessed by one of our instructors. Most lessons will be weekly on Thursday evenings, with the exception of some Intermediate and Professional lessons.
